The Philippine Leather Expo is the ONLY leather & leather goods machinery exhibition in the Philippines. With support from the Philippine Board of Investment (BOI), Confederation of Wearable Exporters of the Philippines (CONWEP), Textile Producers Association of the Philippines (TEXPAP), Marikina Shoe Industry Development Office (MASIDO), and Institutes in Department of Science and Technology, this show will help you explore the potential Philippine market.
The Philippines needs to import leather and leather machines
The Philippines is actively developing its leather industry. Real GDP grew 6.7 percent in 2017. The IMF team projected that this rate will be sustained in 2018 and 2019 driven by strong consumption and investment. The Footwear & Leather goods industries predicted an export growth of 24% this year to $0.75 billion from $0.6 billion in 2017, which means the Philippines will need to import a lot of leather machinery & materials for the manufacturing.
The last Philippine Leather Expo was held on 23 - 26 August, 2018 at the SMX Convention Centre. VIP attendees included the Head of Ministry, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Hon. Ramon Lopez. Special TV programmes about the exhibition were broadcasted on CNN, ANC and UNTV.
